Description
Kumiko Teak Room Divider
c1960s
Four-panel teak folding screen featuring traditional Japanese kumiko joinery with hemp leaf (asanoha) geometric pattern. Kumiko is an intricate woodworking technique where thin wooden pieces are precisely interlocked to create geometric designs without nails or glue, requiring exceptional craftsmanship and joinery skills.
The original brass multi-directional hinges allow the panels to fold in either direction for flexible configuration.
Good vintage condition consistent with age.
